A good brief doesn't need to be long. It needs to answer the questions that change what we make, how we make it and when it can arrive. These are the seven we ask on every project. Rough answers are fine; "we're not sure yet" is a useful answer too.
1. The moment
What is it for, and who will wear or carry it? A staff uniform for a coffee bar, a booth on race day and a gift for a team's anniversary are three different briefs, even if all three are T-shirts. La Marzocco's festival tees were cut for a full shift behind the machine; Prolog's anniversary tote was made to be carried every day for years. The moment tells us what "good" means.
2. Products and rough quantities
Which products are you imagining, and roughly how many of each? Most of our products start at 20 pieces, flat-brim caps at 100 and socks at 50. Prices step down from 50 pieces and keep falling every further 20, so a rough number already tells us a lot.
3. Artwork
Send what you have: PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF. Transparent PNG and SVG files work best. If the artwork isn't final, a sketch and a reference are enough to start a direction; our team adapts graphics to each product as part of the work.
4. Placement and technique
Front, back or both? Small and quiet, or a statement? Tell us your preference for screen printing, DTF or embroidery if you have one. The final method is confirmed after we review the file, because the artwork often decides it for you.
5. Timing
When do you need it in hand? Most projects run 3–4 weeks from approved concept to delivery; larger, multi-region programmes 4–5 weeks. New specs include a physical sample round before production, which is the best-value week in the whole project.
6. Delivery
One address or several? Which country? We deliver worldwide, to a single HQ or split across offices and events, and we plan packing and freight around it.
7. Budget
A range is enough. Our product studio shows an estimated unit price for every product from 20 pieces, including front-and-back and technique, so you can test what your budget buys before you write to us.
The quickest route: build it, then send it
The studio answers half of this brief for you. Pick a product and colour, place your artwork, set a quantity and add it to your project. Repeat for each product, then send the whole project to us from one page. Most briefs get a quote back within a few business days.
Build your project in the studio, or send us a brief in your own words.
